I love the lack of handholding provided by Animal Hospital when addressing anomalies and preventing them from wreaking havoc on our beloved patients and sanity. One in particular that took me some time to get familiar with was the ghostly ghoul. So, I’m here to tell you my two easy ways on how to get rid of Ghosts in Animal Hospital, including Ghost spawn prevention methods, and survival tips and tricks!
Let’s get into it.
How To Get Rid of Ghosts in Animal Hospital
Ghosts are tricky encounters since they’re transparent and siphon your sanity just by looking at them, similar to the Stalker. However, unlike the Stalker, they’re not shy enough to leave afterwards, making them a problem you must address.
First, you need to reveal them. Do this using the Fire Extinguisher to make them visible. Or, if you’re certain of their whereabouts, skip this step.
Next, tase or shoot them to plunge them into the afterlife. I recommend dealing with ghosts as soon as you find them, as they will continue to hang around the halls and steal Sanity on each pass.
Alternatively, if you happen to have slime on the ground, you can lure the Ghost to it, which will trap and kill it in the goop. After this, long-press E to interact and clean up the slime.
Hint: Ghosts have a random spawn chance, but are almost guaranteed if you throw patients in the trash after they faint, or when a patient dies in the hospital. To reduce their spawning, try not to throw patients away, and always administer correct medication… do your job and help them…
Tips and Tricks
- Equipment:
- Always return equipment, such as the Fire Extinguisher and Taser, back to their charging docks when you’re done with them. Hoarding them (in multiplayer, especially) prevents other players from preventing issues around the hospital, which risks the entire campaign.
- Sanity:
- If you have low Sanity, try working the reception for a little while and letting teammates deal with patients. This means an encounter with a Ghost won’t be fatal to you. Always remember to drink coffee!
- Bed Monster:
- Unlike other anomalies, such as the Hiders, you can’t lure Ghosts to the Bed Monster and let it take care of the Ghost for you. Even if the Ghost is visible with the use of the Fire Extinguisher, the Bed Monster won’t see or interact with it.
