To find the best horse in Bridger Western, you’re going to need quite a bit of Moola. All Bridger Western players should aim to get a horse as soon as possible.

Speaking of ‘the best’, make sure to read my Stands Tier List and Cards Tier List for Bridger Western. The strength of your character’s build is extremely important.

Best Horses in Bridger Western

In Bridger Western, the best horses focus on speed and stamina. If a horse has high speed and low stamina, then it’s going to be tricky to manage. There’s a fine balance to strike.

How to Get a Horse

To obtain a permanent horse, you first need to level up your character to Tier 3. When speaking to the Horse Stable NPC, you are offered a random horse, with prices ranging from 150 to 1.5K Moola. Before you make the purchase, you can check the horse’s stats to see if it’s worth the Moola. If you’re not happy with the horse, you can pay 20 Moola to reroll.

For those below Tier 3, you can get a temporary horse by visiting a stable. No matter your current Tier, you can purchase one for 200 Moola, but as it’s temporary, you’ll have to pay another 200 once it despawns.

As for the horse stables, their locations differ depending on whether or not you’re an Outlaw or an Inlaw.

How to Get the Best Horses

When it comes to the best horses, the general rule of thumb is to pick one that costs at least 800 Moola or more.

With each offer being randomised when you speak to the Horse Stable NPC, there’s a chance to get Legendary and Mythical rarity horses. To tell the difference between a regular horse and a Legendary/Mythical, its name should be written in capital letters.

Despite their rarity, if they still cost a low amount of Moola, then they’re not that strong. For example, a Legendary rarity low-cost horse will have weaker base stats.

Essentially, the more expensive the horse, the better it is.

Horse Stats

All horses come with a set of randomised stats. Legendary and Mythical rarity horses come with additional stat boosts. To be more specific, Legendaries gain 1 extra stat boost, and Mythicals gain 2 extra stat boosts.

Horses have the following stats:

  • Speed
  • Stamina
  • Jump
  • Damage
  • Scale
  • Turn

As you can see, most of these stats determine how easy it is to control the horse when travelling. Horses are momentum-based, which means they can be tricky to use at times. With weak stats, it’ll be much more challenging.

If you want to double-check your current horse’s stats, press the M key. Stats usually max out at 1.25, but Legendary and Mythical horses can exceed this.

Summoning a Horse

All players start with a mule, which can be summoned with the H key. You then need to press the N key to ride it. The same goes for any other horse in Bridger Western, whether you have a temporary or permanent horse.

Of course, the mule isn’t good and needs to be replaced as soon as you have the Moola. A temporary horse from a stable, once you have enough Moola, is the best way to go as you work towards levelling up to Tier 3.

If you need some extra Moola or additional buffs, you can learn how to fish in Bridger Western. The fish you catch can be sold for Moola or can be eaten to provide temporary buffs.
