The Dead Rails Snake Oil item is one of the most useful consumables you can collect in the game. It comes with two buffs but it costs quite a bit of in-game cash!

Battle against Dead Rails zombies! If you randomly come across the bank building, you might be wondering how to open the vault. Well, with our Dead Rails Vault Code guide, you can quickly find out how to unlock it and what’s inside.

Dead Rails Snake Oil

Like most other items and locations in Dead Rails, it all comes down to RNG. You have a chance of finding Snake Oil when you enter a building, but there are some locations where it’s more likely to appear.

How to Get Snake Oil

Firstly, if you’re on the hunt for a bottle of Snake Oil, I recommend getting off the train and entering any building you come across. There’s a chance for Snake Oil to be in any building – mostly on tables or even discarded on the floor.

However, if you find the Doctor NPC who spawns inside forts. The building has a red sign above the door which reads ‘Doctor’. To acquire Snake Oil, you must purchase it for $35 (in-game cash). Whilst he sells bandages, the Snake Oil is a much better investment. Though, if you don’t have much in-game cash, a bandage only costs $10.

What Does Snake Oil Do?

Snake Oil is sort of like a healing potion! When you drink Snake Oil, your HP replenishes back to 100%, making it extremely useful if you’ve taken quite a lot of damage from zombies. Additionally, consuming a bottle of Snake Point also increases your speed for a short while.

To access it easily in the middle of combat, make sure you equip it to your toolbar at the bottom of your screen. This way, you can take a sip during a battle to get back up to full health! If you know that you’ll be facing off against a mob of zombies, or an especially strong one (like the Banker Zombie), you’re best bet is having a couple of Snake Oils on hand… just in case.
