Dead Rails April Fool’s Event
The April Fool’s event is full of new limited-time content!
Horse Class
You can now play as a horse in Dead Rails. Thankfully, this is possible in all game modes and not just an April Fool’s-themed one, unless you are trying to enter a game mode that doesn’t allow classes in general.
As a horse, you have the same stats as the horses you can tame and ride as usual, including a Speed stat of 32. However, when playing as a horse, you have a larger hitbox, making it easier for enemies to attack you from close range and at a distance. Plus, horses do not have an HP replenishment passive, but at least you start with a shovel!
How to Unlock the Horse Class
To unlock the Horse class, you need to beat the Horsing Around game mode that is part of the April Fool’s event. Upon beating the mode, you obtain the class, which you can then select before starting a round in all game modes.
Horsing Around Game Mode
This game mode is only available during the April Fool’s event and it unlocks the Horse Class (more on that above!). When playing the Horsing Around mode, you do not ride a train, and you start the round as a horse. You and other players run around as horses to get redemption! Upon completion, you obtain 10 Bonds and the Horse Class which you can activate in the lobby area.
Fool’s Gold Game Mode
Another limited-time game mode for the April Fool’s event! It works more or less the same as the standard mode but you need to look out for Fool’s Gold, which spawns random items such as enemies, in-game cash, and Money Bags. Ideally, you don’t want to summon a random enemy, but that’s part of the risk!
You also have a chance to obtain a key that unlocks the door to a house. What’s inside this house? Free Bonds! Completing a round of the Fool’s Gold game mode rewards you with 10 Bonds.
