You may have heard talk about Leafy Plants, but what are the Grow a Garden Leafy Plants, and why do you need them? Fear not, as we’re here to help! It’s also worth familiarising yourself with what the prickly fruits are and why you need them in Grow a Garden.

What Are The Grow a Garden Leafy Plants?

As the name implies, leafy plants are… leafy. But what exactly does that mean?

What Are Leafy Plants?

The question on everybody’s mind is what plants and crops are classed as ‘leafy’. The bad news is, nobody is 100% sure at the moment. However! There has been a lot of speculation on what the leafy crops are.

Some people believe that leafy crops are simply plants that have leaves. Therefore, this includes:

  • Carrot
  • Strawberry
  • Pear
  • Coconut
  • Dragon Fruit
  • Pineapple
  • Grape
  • Pepper
  • Cacao
  • Beanstalk

Crops such as Blueberry, Raspberry, Tulip, Daffodil, Tomato, Corn, Watermelon, Pumpkin, Apple, Mango, and Peach are more similar to trees or bushes, with no clear leaves. Therefore, these are harder to identify as leafy.

From the list above, both the Dragonfruit and Pineapple are Pricky Fruits, which could mean that they aren’t classed as Leafy… despite them technically having leaves.

When it becomes clearer what exactly the Leafy Plants are, we’ll update this post and go through each.

Why You Need Leafy Plants

You may be wondering why exactly the topic of Leafy Plants is important, and that all comes down to the Caterpillar pet.

The Caterpillar has a passive ability. When placed in your garden, all of your Leafy Plants will grow faster than normal.

You can get this pet from a Bug Egg with a 25% chance. These eggs are rarer to come by, with only a 3% chance of appearing in the Pet Shop. You may get lucky and find someone willing to give you their Caterpillar in exchange for another pet or a crop that is worth a lot.
