The Crystal of Atlan Enhancement system is a little confusing at first, with the method changing once a piece of gear reaches level 10 and above. Plus, there’s the whole Success Rate feature, which can actually reduce the progress of your gear if it goes wrong in Crystal of Atlan. Need some extra resources? See if there are any active Crystal of Atlan Codes!
Crystal of Atlan Enhancement
Enhancing your gear is one of the most important things to do when it comes to building your top characters! But you shouldn’t upgrade just any old piece of gear. Save your resources for the best ones, stock up on Catalysts and Vouchers, and keep the Success Rate feature in mind at all times.
How to Enhance Your Gear
From the Gear screen in Crystal of Atlan, you can click on any piece of gear to open its stats, and then select the ‘Enhancement’ option on the side. This method is solely for pieces of gear that are below level 10. After your gear reaches level 10, you must visit the Weapon Master NPC (also known as the Blacksmith).
When interacting with the Weapon Master NPC, you can choose from a selection of gear pieces that you own. The required materials for the next enhancement are displayed on the screen, as well as the specific Attribute Enhancements. The latter tells you how much an attribute increases after the enhancement!
Success Rate Explained
However, the most important thing to note when enhancing your gear is the Success Rate. You can increase this by utilising certain materials such as Catalysts, Stable Catalysts, Potent Catalysts, and Vouchers. Luckily, you can craft these Catalysts! If a Gear Enhancement fails, it is reduced by 1 level.
When Should You Enhance Your Gear?
You should start thinking about enhancing your gear once you have decent pieces for your characters. There’s no point wasting resources on bad, low-rarity, weak gear. Save your items for the strong and useful ones! I recommend waiting to enhance your gear until you’re around level 50 onwards.
At this point, you should already have Catalysts and Vouchers in your inventory, or at least enough materials to craft plenty of Catalysts to increase the success rate of each enhancement.
