Whether you’re here for the Dig Meteor item in the Copper Mesa or you’re curious about the Meteor Shower event, this guide goes over everything you need to know. Trying to complete your journal? Read our Cinder Cavern Items guide to find out what you need to collect for the journal page in Dig.
Dig Meteor
The Meteor is a collectable item in Dig, but it’s also part of an in-game weather event which grants access to an exclusive shovel.
Meteor Location
If you want the Meteor item for your journal, you need to head to the Copper Mesa. The Meteor is a Divine rarity item, which means the chance of it appearing is quite rare. To find this item, I recommend using a shovel with a high Luck stat. However, due to its rarity, the minigame may be a little tricky, so you also need a shovel that has decent Strength and Control stats.
As for the Meteor’s preferences, it has none! It doesn’t matter what the weather is like or which season it is in-game, the Meteor has a chance of appearing at all times.
Salty’s Saloon Quest
Mr. Salty has a variety of quests, one of which asks you to collect a Meteor! This is particularly the quest called ‘Inbound’.
Meteor Shower Event
The Meteor Shower event has nothing to do with the Meteor item, but it’s still a feature you should know about! This event can only occur during the nighttime and has a small chance of spawning.
During the Meteor Shower, your Luck stat increases by 3x and a meteor will land in a random location. This meteor grants you access to the Starfire Shovel, the Celestial Totem, and the Blood Crown.
The game lets you know where the meteor has landed, which you can then travel to in your vehicle to find the purchasable items.
