The Dress to Impress Rune and Key can only be obtained by taking part in the Halloween event. When you get both of them, you earn rewards! Need a break from Dress to Impress? We’ve got a 99 Nights in the Forest Rune and Key guide to help you progress even more in the Halloween Spotlight event.

Dress to Impress Rune and Key

The second half of the Halloween Spotlight quest is much more involved than the first! You need both the Rune and the Key to obtain the Halloween rewards, so let’s go over how to unlock them.

How to Get the Rune

This is definitely the easiest part of the Halloween Spotlight event in Dress to Impress. To get the Rune, all you need to do is play for 2 rounds while only wearing the limited-time Halloween clothing. You can find the required clothing in the themed area, decorated with thorny branches, flowers, and a purple rug!

While your ensembles might not match the theme, that’s okay, because you’re just trying to get the Rune! Then again, if you manage to match the theme and only wear the Halloween clothing, it’s a win-win.

How to Get the Key

Unlike the Rune, the obtainment method of the Key is a little more long-winded. It’s important to note that you cannot get the Key without first getting the Rune, so make sure to complete that step first.

Once you’ve got the Rune, you can click on the ‘Halloween Spotlight’ event button on the right side of the screen. Select the Halloween Spotlight tab and then click the ‘Teleport’ button to go to the ‘Lina Quest’. When the new window opens, look to the right to select the ‘Play Now’ button for the Halloween quest.

Book 1: The Black Raveness

The first part of this quest requires you to investigate the Backstage. Wander around and interact with a mirror and a lantern – both of these items are interactable, but you need to find the right ones.

Ravens

For the next part, you need to search for Ravens. They have a misty aura as feathers float around them, so they’re easy to spot. However, you must pick up the 3 fake Ravens before you can get the real Ravens.

  • Fake Raven Locations
    • 1. On the stairs
    • 2. Turn the statues so that they are all facing forward
    • 3. Top of the stairs

Once you find all 3 fake Ravens, you can move on to finding the real Ravens.

  • Real Raven Locations
    • 1. A statue holds a Raven
    • 2. Head to the cages and enter the crypt
    • 3. Go to the left of the backstage area to find an obby. Complete the obby to find the Raven!

After finding the 3 real Ravens, you can walk back to the cages in the main area to place them inside each one.

Unlocking the Grand Library Door

Once you place the Ravens into their cages, you are teleported to a new area with a grand staircase. Your new task is to unlock the door of the Grand Library. Head up the stairs and go to the left to find an open door that leads into a bedroom.

There’s a key on the bedside table, which you can interact with to pick up. Walk back down the stairs and make your way to the large door ahead. The key unlocks the door to the Grand Library!

Final Door

Now, it’s time to unlock the Final Door. To do this, you must find 6 books before bringing them to the locked door. However, as you search for these books, there is a haunting figure wandering around, whom you must avoid as much as possible.

The monster can not only see you but also hear you, and there is glass on the floor in some areas. Make sure not to walk over this class, so as not to let the figure know where you are. You cannot carry all 6 books at the same time, so you need to collect and place each one into the door as you go along.

To add to the challenge, the order in which you place the books matters too, but you can sort that out once you have all 6 of them. Luckily, you can switch them around afterwards! To work out the order, you need to wander around the library to find sheets of paper that have numbers and symbols on them. These numbers and symbols match the books!

Once you rearrange the books into the correct order, the Final Door unlocks, and you obtain the Halloween Spotlight Key.
