Fisch Mustard Fish Guide
A new rarity has been introduced in Fisch… and that is the secrets! When you’re fishing and about to catch one, the exclamation mark above your head will turn black and white.
What Is The Mustard Fish?
Mustard is one of the few secrets available, and it resembles a pufferfish. Or perhaps it is a pufferfish but just… mustard colour. Its bestiary entry is: “A bulbous and rotund yellow pufferfish.” I must say… it is very cute! When you interact with Mustard, it will make a mouse squeak sound.
How To Catch A Mustard Fish
As it is a secret fish, the chances of catching it are quite slim. It has a 0.15% chance (or a 1/666) of being caught, but that increases to 1/95 during the Aurora Borealis Event.
You can find the Mustard fish in the Ocean… which I know, is broad. However, there are some things to increase your chances! These puffy creatures love Seaweed as bait, so make sure to use that on your rod. They also have a preference for rainy weather in summer but can appear at any time.
You’ll want to use a rod that has high luck. Mustard only weighs around 2.5kg on average, so you don’t need a rod that can hold high weight. The Artic Rod is a good option. It gives a 65% luck boost and costs 25,000C$ from the Northern Expedition.
For a cheaper alternative, the Fungal Rod is a personal favourite. You get it as a reward when completing Agaric’s quest. It gives 45% luck but has a chance to give you an additional luck boost for 45 seconds.
