When Does the Starfall Event Spawn?

There is no way to determine when the Starfall event will spawn; however, it can be manually activated if a player uses a Starfall Totem. When using a Starfall Totem, you must activate it during the nighttime; otherwise, it won’t work. Don’t worry, if another player tries to ruin your fun by using a Sundial Totem, it will not work, and the Starfall event will continue.

To get a Starfall Totem for yourself, you need to open Fallen Stars that appear on the ground during Starfall.

What Happens During Starfall?

When the Starfall event begins, Fallen Stars start to rain down from the sky. But what are they?

You can search for and pick up these Fallen Stars, but only one player per server can claim them. By opening a Fallen Star, you have a chance of obtaining the following items:

  • Starfall Totem
    • 2.38% drop chance
  • Void Wood
    • 7.14% drop chance
  • Lunar Thread
    • 2.38% drop chance
  • Enchant Relic
    • 11.90% drop chance
  • Cosmic Relic
    • 4.76% drop chance
  • Rock
    • 35.71% drop chance
  • Basalt
    • 25.71% drop chance

Mutations and Buffs

During the event, there is a 5% chance of your catches having the Nova mutation, which increases the selling value of a fish by 7.5x. The only other way of getting the Nova mutation is by using the Rod of the Cosmos fishing rod, which grants a 15% chance of catches getting said mutation.

As well as the increased chances of Nova, your progress speed during the fishing minigame also increases by 10%.

Cerulean Fang Rod

The Cerulean Fang Rod is a fishing rod that is only available to purchase once the Starfall event is active. You can find this rod in the Luminescent Cavern, which is part of the Desolate Deep. To unlock the Luminescent Cavern, you need to find 3 Keystones and place them into the Mysterious Crack.
