How to catch Cataclysmic fish!
Cataclysmic Fish
Luckily, you don’t need to catch Cataclysmic fish to complete a Bestiary page. They’re one of the rarest types of fish to catch, so they’re a great way to flex to other players and to make in-game money!
The best way to get any of these fish is during the Cataclysmic Fish Hunt, which I’ll explain in more detail below. Though the Ashclaw can be caught during the Eruption server event, and the Akkorokamui, Lusca, and Charybdis can be caught during the Earthquake event.

Cataclysmic Fish Hunt
There is a 0.00167% base chance every second for the Cataclysmic Fish Hunt to spawn, though this spawn chance increases depending on how many players are fishing in the same location at once.
Each player increases the chance by 10%! When the Cataclysmic Fish Hunt begins, it lasts for around 30 minutes. Even with 20 players, the spawn chance is only 0.01371%, so it’s an extremely rare server event. During a Cataclysmic Fish Hunt, there is only one Cataclysmic fish that can be caught at a time, which is chosen at random, hence why this rarity of fish is one of the rarest in the game!
Eruption Event
With the Eruption server event, you have a chance to catch the Ashclaw Cataclysmic fish. When the Eruption event is active, you must fish in the Roslit Volcano, where the Ashclaw may suddenly appear. Like most other server events, there is no way to guarantee when the Eruption event will spawn.
Earthquake Event
As mentioned above, this event increases your chances of catching the Charybdis, Lusca, and the Akkorokamui. Unlike the Eruption event, the Earthquake event applies to the entirety of the ocean, rather than just the Roslit Volcano.
