Grow a Garden Beginner’s Guide
Our tips on growing a flourishing and profitable garden on Roblox!
Growing Crops
Planting seeds and growing crops is the bread and butter of Grow a Garden! All you need to do is head to the Seed Shop. You can do this by either walking over or clicking the blue ‘Seeds’ button at the top of the screen to be instantly teleported to the stall. Purchase seeds that are in stock, teleport (or walk) back to your garden and plant them!
It’s up to you where you put them. You can either go for a chaotic layout or a more organised one. I like to keep all the different types of crops separate, more for aesthetic reasons than anything else.
Seed Shop Restock
One thing to keep in mind when purchasing new seeds is that each type has a rarity. The rarer the seed, the less likely it is to appear in the shop each time it restocks. These restocks occur every 5 minutes!
Common, Uncommon, and Rare seeds are more likely to be in stock, whereas Legendary and Mythical seeds are few and far between. Make sure you have enough in-game cash when they do eventually become available, as they’re on the pricier side.
Gear
While gear is entirely optional, once you have some extra in-game cash, you can splurge a little on garden equipment! One thing to note is that gear is temporary, with sprinklers lasting 5 minutes and watering cans being limited to 10 uses.
Watering cans increase the growing speed of your crops, whereas sprinklers provide a larger range of benefits. For example, the Basic Sprinkler boosts the size of your crops, and the Advanced/Godly Sprinklers increase the chance of your crops getting a mutation.
Selling Crops
Once your crops have fully grown, you can harvest them. Click the red ‘Sell’ button at the top to teleport to the stall and interact with the NPC.
You can choose between:
- I want to sell my inventory
- This sells everything that is currently in your inventory, except for gear
- I want to sell this
- This sells the item you are currently holding – you need to equip it first!
- How much is this worth?
- Select this option if you want to see the value of an item, for instance, a mutated crop
Mutations
If a crop has a mutation, or it is a rarer plant (like Dragon Fruit and Mango), they sell for much more than a Strawberry or Carrot does. If you want to maximise your profits, you should focus on buying rare seeds as much as possible. For the crops that don’t sell for much, keep them around in your garden until they obtain the Wet mutation – this, at least, increases their selling value by a bit.
