How to Birdwatch

Birdwatching is one of the trickier Hobbies in Heartopia, at least in my experience. Trying to get new Info Cards for a variety of poses of the same bird can be time-consuming! My best advice is to passively find birds as you explore. When you’re Level 1, you have the basics, but as you level up the Hobby, you unlock new Skills which make Birdwatching much easier.

It’s important to note that you don’t have to take photos of the bird, but it’s definitely worth it. You can use these photos to decorate your house or as gifts. As long as you use the binoculars and focus on a specific bird for a few seconds, the bird will be identified and added to your encyclopedia, rewarding you with a Bird Info Card.

Skills

  • Increased Steadiness with Camera
    • This Skill reduces the shaking of the camera, making it easier to identify birds with a steady hand, as well as take pictures of them before they fly away
    • It’s also useful when a bird is moving a lot or is far away from where you are
  • Calling the Birds (must have the Auto Bird Whistle)
    • The Auto Bird Whistle attracts specific birds
  • Upgrading the Binoculars and Camera
    • Unlock new and upgraded lenses so that you can identify birds even from long distances

What Should You Do With the Bird Info Cards?

While you can keep hold of them for collection purposes, I recommend giving them to Bailey J in exchange for other rewards. This feature unlocks once you reach Level 2 of the Birdwatching Hobby, with the Info Card Recycling system.

Increasing Your Friendship With Bailey J

To level up your friendship with Bailey J, the mentor for the Birdwatching Hobby, the best thing to gift her is photos of birds! If you’ve got a bunch of bird photos that you’re happy to give away, instead of selling them, surprise Bailey J with a gift! As you increase your friendship level with her, you unlock further buffs.
