Our How to Dash in Ink Game guide goes over the two ways of unlocking the ability and why it’s useful! Make sure to read our How to Push guide, too, which is another mechanic that many players swear by in Ink Game.
How to Dash in Ink Game
The main way to unlock the ability to dash in Ink Game is by upgrading your overall Speed stat. You can do this by clicking the Shop icon, which is displayed as a little shopping basket, and then selecting the green Upgrades tab on the left.
From here, you can upgrade a variety of stats, but the one you need to focus on is the Faster Speed option. Once this stat reaches level 5, you automatically unlock the dashing ability. To upgrade a stat, you must spend the Won that you earn when playing the game. The Speed upgrade also boosts your walking speed, so you generally move around much faster!
Second Method: Phantom Step
The second method of getting access to the dashing ability is by rolling the Phantom Step. The Phantom Step power is of the Legendary rarity, which has a 2.9% chance of dropping. By default, this power lets you perform a total of 3 fast dashes in the direction your camera is facing.
Why Dashing is Useful
Players rely on dashing when they need to quickly evade oncoming danger, either from other players or their environment. If you’re playing through Lights Out, you may want to dash away from any opponents who are trying to chase and attack you.
Dashing can also come in handy during Red Light Green Light, as you can get to the opposite side much sooner. This also helps you to create distance between you and any players who might try to sabotage you by pushing.
Plus, if you manage to reach the Rebel ending, quick movement and dashes can help you evade oncoming shots and attacks from opponents. This grants you a better chance of making it to the end of the game, therefore rewarding you with lots of Won!
