Our Rune Slayer Fairy guide discusses how to find both types of Fairies (Standard and Golden), as well as the buffs they provide when equipped.

Look out for pets in Rune Slayer! While Fairies don’t need to be tamed, other pets do – take a look at our Rune Slayer Taming guide to discover which items are required and which pets can be used as mounts.

Rune Slayer Fairy

Pets are useful in Rune Slayer, especially Fairies! Find out why they’re handy companions and how to get them in this guide.

How to Find a Fairy

There are 2 different types of Fairies – neither of them need to be tamed, unlike other in-game pets!

Standard Fairy

Fairies spawn around the Greatwood Forest! The easiest place to travel from to get to this location is Ashenshire. To find a Fairy, look out for a glowing orb – they can be light blue or golden. There’s a difference in their effects! Press the E key on your keyboard to gather the Fairy up.

Golden Fairy

The Golden Fairy is a potential drop from the Elder Treant boss in Greatwood Forest. It is a rare drop though, so you are not guaranteed one straight away! Ranged classes work best against this boss, as it likes to unleash AoE attacks, as well as grabbing targets if they are closeby.

Fairy Buffs

Depending on the type of Fairy you equip, its effects differ. They’re both great choices, but they do vastly different things. It all comes down to what you want from an in-game pet.

Standard Fairy Buff

  • Increases your Magic DMG by 0.4% at level 1, but increases by a further 0.4% each time the Fairy pet levels up

Golden Fairy Buff

  • Grants you with the ‘Fairy Buff’, which increases the amount of rolls you get per mob/boss drops by 3
  • This buff increases your chances of obtaining rarer drops too, boosting your luck by 0.1x per pet level
