Bugs with mutations in Catch Bugs earn you far more money than regular bugs. One of the main mechanics in Catch Bugs is the Vivarium, which benefits the most from mutated bugs. Even the rarest bugs can get any one of the mutations listed below.

Catch Bugs Mutations

Mutations affect the value multiplier of a bug, whilst also changing its appearance. Outside of weather events, all players have a base 1 in 90 chance of catching a bug with a mutation.

Mutated bugs, as mentioned, have a higher value multiplier, meaning they sell for much more money. However, if you place mutated bugs in your Vivarium, your income further increases. In short, mutated bugs are better than regular bugs, especially when it comes to earning money.

Weather

Weather events grant a 1-in-3 chance of getting a mutation whenever you catch a bug. Each event lasts around 5 minutes and spawns every 45 minutes. Players can activate a specific weather event themselves by spending Robux, with the Heatwave event being the most expensive.

How to Increase Your Chances of Getting Mutated Bugs

The Bone Net has a passive ability which increases the mutation chance by 40% when catching bugs at night. The net itself costs 200,000,000 from the Secret Tomb.

Or, you can get the Bamboo Net, which increases the chance of getting a mutation by 30% when catching bugs during the daytime. This net costs 220,000,000 from Blossomwing.

The Lure you use also determines which mutations you have a higher chance of getting, all of which are listed above in the ‘All Mutations’ section of this guide.
