How To Get The Chilled Mutation In Grow A Garden

To get crops that have the chilled mutation, you need to wait for a specific weather event to happen. If you do have chilled crops, their base value increases by x2 the original price. They will also be covered in ice particles and be a lighter colour.

Frost Weather

You need Frost weather to get the chilled mutation. At the moment, there is no way to force this weather to happen, so it all comes down to luck. You can see if this event is active, as at the bottom of your screen, there will be an icon of a snowflake.

During this weather, your character will shiver. This weather condition will also increase the speed of your crops’ growth by 50%! Alongside the chilled mutation, Frost weather can also give crops the frozen mutation, which makes them sell for x10 more. This happens when a wet crop is chilled.

Why Do You Need Chilled Crops?

At the moment, you need chilled crops to complete the Angry Plant Event. As you progress through the event, the plant will ask for chilled crops in exchange for seed packs. You can find out more in our Grow a Garden Angry Plant Quest guide.

Another reason for chilled crops is selling them for a profit. As I said, anything with this mutation increases the base value by x2, so it’s worth stocking up and then selling them to get cash. Or, you can simply leave them in your garden for aesthetic purposes!
