How to Get the Unknown Key

To obtain the Unknown Key, you first need to complete a side quest from the Bard NPC in Stonewake’s Cross. This quest is ‘The Lost Guitar‘, and it requires you to find the Bard’s missing guitar. Luckily, while it’s hidden, it’s pretty easy to find once you know where to go.

  1. Speak to the Bard sitting by the campfire in Stonewake’s Cross to start the quest
  2. Next, head into the caves of Stonewake’s Cross and turn left as soon as you reach the two NPCs
  3. Look to the left to see moss on the floor with leaves
  4. Head over to it and walk on top of it to fall through into a secret location
  5. There is a skeleton in this cave, and the lost guitar is to the right of it
  6. Interact with the guitar to pick it up and climb up the ladder to get back to the main cave
  7. Follow the pathway out of the cave and walk over to the Bard NPC
  8. Speak with him to hand over his lost guitar to complete the quest
  9. The Bard gives you the Unknown Key as a reward

What is the Unknown Key?

The Unknown Key is a usable item when unlocking the gate to the Fallen Angel’s Cave. What’s the importance of this secret location, you ask? Well, this is where you can purchase the Arcane Pickaxe.

This gate cannot otherwise be opened without the Unknown Key. Even if you don’t want the Arcane Pickaxe, which I do recommend getting, it’s still a good side quest to complete! You never know, the Fallen Angel’s Cave might have more importance in future updates.
