The mystery of the Cooked Owl is still ongoing… sort of. However, Jandel has officially confirmed in YouTube comments that the Cooked Owl will be a pet.

What is the Cooked Owl?

This all started as a reference to something he said in-game regarding a BBQ as punishment for the Night Owl providing bad stock RNG. If you didn’t know, Jandel likes to post a few live messages into the game at times, activating rare events and utilising commands to shake up the experience for players.

Leaks showcase a grill with a cooked bird atop it, which is an unreleased cosmetic. However, this then morphed into the ‘Cooked Owl’, which players speculate is a brand-new pet. Thanks to a recent comment by Jandel, we now know that the Cooked Owl is real!

How to Get the Cooked Owl

As for how to get this pet, we’re not too sure yet. However, seeing as how this is an ‘apology’ gift for all the confusion, it’s more likely that it’s a free pet. Often, players receive free pets just before a new update drops, but you have to be online at the right time, otherwise you miss out. Some examples are the Panda pet and the Chicken Zombie! When you know an event is about to start, hop online as quickly as possible – I suggest around 20 to 30 minutes before.

Still, there’s a chance that the Cooked Owl is an egg pet, meaning you’ll have to obtain a specific egg and hatch it. Or, as we know, the crafting update is on the way, perhaps it’s a craftable pet? If that’s the case, it’s unknown right now as to which resources you need in order to craft it.
