How to Obtain the Unbreakable Lockpick in Oblivion Remastered

It’s no secret that lockpicking is one of the biggest obstacles in Oblivion (the original and the remastered version).

So, what if there were an unbreakable lockpick that solved all those issues? Well, there is! It’s called the Skeleton Key. It all begins with the Nocturnal questline…

Starting the Nocturnal Questline

You must first reach level 10 before you can even think about starting the questline. Once you hit this level mark, you must head to the Northeast of Leyawiin to find the Nocturnal Shrine.

From here, you can approach an NPC and speak with them to begin the Nocturnal questline. The first quest requires you to find the Eye of Nocturnal, which thieves have stolen.

Obtaining the Eye of Nocturnal

The best way to complete this quest is by speaking with the locals of Leyawiin to see if they know anything about these thieves. Eventually, you uncover the fact that these thieves are Argonian residents of Leyawiin.

Once you find the thieves, you need to talk to them before you can progress further in the quest. After your conversation with them, it’s time to eavesdrop. Overhearing their chatter, you discover that the Eye of Nocturnal is hidden in the Tidewater Cave.

The quest marker displays where you can find the Tidewater Cave. Make your way to the location, pick up the Eye of Nocturnal, and go back to the Nocturnal Shrine where the quest began.

Upon completion of this quest, you are given the Skeleton Key as a reward, granting you access to the unbreakable lockpick in Oblivion.
