Blue Protocol Star Resonance Float
The Float ability is a much sought-after addition to your moveset, as it makes it easier to explore the open world. With how vast the in-game world is, it’s a key part of travelling, especially if you don’t have a mount yet, or you prefer not to use one. Still, floating is certainly faster than using a mount!
How to Unlock Float in Blue Protocol Star Resonance
First, you need to be level 17 before you can access the quest that takes you to the Ancient City. After reaching level 17, go to Asterleeds to speak with Airona. This unlocks the ‘Terra Resonance’ quest, which involves travelling towards the Ancient City of Vil. If you’re not sure where that is, it’s slightly to the left of the Cliff Ruins waypoint on the map.
As you arrive in the Ancient City, there’s a blue flower that isn’t hard to miss! This is the Hero’s Herb. Approach this flower and resonate with it to unlock the ‘Asteria Plains Float Skill’.
How to Float
Once you’ve unlocked the Float skill, you can open the Skills menu and place ‘Float’ into one of the slots. It’s as easy as that! As you float through the sky, you need to steer to increase your speed and control your wings to increase both your speed and flying height. So, it’s not just a simple ‘fly through the sky’ mechanic.
You must take note of your height, speed, and momentum so that you stay in the sky and do not plummet down to the ground. Keep an eye out for gusts of wind to help you gain more airtime. Make sure to keep using your wings, as simply floating slowly sends you back down over time.
