Gacha games rely heavily on strong teams to clear content, which includes character builds. My Mongil Star Dive Builds guide goes over the most crucial things to consider when assembling a team of three characters.
A good place to start from is knowing which are the best characters in Mongil Star Dive. Keeping up with the upcoming banners can help you prepare for future teams, too.
Mongil Star Dive Builds
How to create the best builds for your team in Mongil Star Dive.
Classes
One of the most important things to keep in mind when building a character is their class. Having a balanced team with differing classes is the way to go. If you can make a full team of Assassins work, then more power to you.
I am, however, a fan of having at least one Support character on my team at all times. In Mongil Star Dive, there are four classes:
- Destroyer
- The tankiest out of the DPS characters, Destroyers can fill the Stagger Gauge much faster, making it easier to destroy the shields of enemies
- Assassin
- Melee Burst DPS characters that excel when a boss is staggered
- Fighters
- The overarching DPS of any team
- Support
- Provides buffs to the team, replenishes HP, and may even dish out debuffs to enemies
Elements
In Mongil Star Dive, there are also elements to take into account. The current elements are:
- Ice
- Wind
- Fire
- Lightning
- Earth
As you’d expect, some elements work better together than others. Enemies also have Elemental Weaknesses, which you can exploit by attacking them with Elemental Skills. Striking their Elemental Weakness deals an increased amount of damage.
Then there’s the Elemental Afflictions, which you can inflict upon enemies. This reduces their Elemental Resistance for a specific Element, meaning they’ll take more damage when attacked with a skill that uses said Element.
DPS Roles
With three DPS classes, with Destroyers being more of a Tank DPS, you need to decide which is going to be your Main DPS and your Sub-DPS.
The Main DPS is the focus, and they’re the ones dealing the most damage overall, but they need to be sustained by a Support character. The Sub-DPS role is secondary and is used to deal damage whilst off the battlefield in the form of debuffs and Damage Over Time (DoT) effects. It all comes down to the abilities of each individual character.
Neutralization Damage
While it seems like yet another type of damage to deal with, it’s actually one of the most crucial. Neutralization Damage directly affects the Stagger Gauge, which must be filled to cause the enemy to become Staggered.
The more Neutralization Damage is dealt, the faster the gauge fills, which is where the Destroyer class comes in. The Stagger Gauge can make or break a battle when it comes to those that are trickier, such as boss fights.
Teams
The characters you place onto a team all depend on their Elements and, of course, classes. Teams can feature characters that use the same Element, though they’re pretty subjective and are only useful when you know which Elements the enemy is weak to.
A recommendation is to have a team that has two different Elements, with the Main DPS and Sub-DPS sharing the same one. This ensures a high amount of damage, but also gives you a slot for another Element just in case.
