How to get Froakie in Pokémon Legends Z-A
The first chance you’ll get to get Froakie on your team is the ninth side mission of Pokémon Legends Z-A. Once side missions open up, open your map and find Side Mission 009: A Challenge from Froakie.
This is a three-part side mission that will see you attempt to scale scaffolding before the time runs out. The times you have to beat for this side mission are pretty easy, but if you’re not confident you can run the courses outside of the side mission.
Once you’ve done all three of them, the character who gives you this side quest will turn to you and offer you a Froakie to take with you for the rest of your journey. Froakie is an extremely powerful Pokémon to pick up early on if you didn’t pick Totodile as your starter, and with the inclusion of Mega Greninja, which is available now, you should do this sooner rather than later.
If you’re looking to Shiny Hunt Froakie, then thankfully, the Pokémon does appear in the Wild, but it’s not until you’re a significant way through the game.
