Which class is the best?
The Magician
Yes, I’m picking the Magician as the best class! You can’t beat a Mage in any RPG. They excel in a lot of things, but I will admit that they’re usually on the weaker side when it comes to their defense and armor. However, the fact that they can unleash powerful attacks from a distance makes them an excellent pick when taking part in tricky boss fights or battling against multiple mobs at once.
The Magician class is fantastic at controlling crowds of enemies, and a lot of the bosses in Rune Slayer rely on players being within melee range, with Mages not having to worry about it. Even though they naturally have lower defense, they do have the Mana Shield ability, which applies DMG Reduction for 5 hits!
On top of that, the Conjure Food and Conjure Water abilities allow Magicians to replenish their own Mana and HP over time, meaning they don’t have to overly rely on potions or consumables all the time.
Mage Subclasses
Additionally, the Magician base class branches out into the Warlock and Sorcerer classes. The Warlock class is by far my favourite subclass!
Not only is it fun to play, but the ability to summon fiends and imps using Souls means you always have a helping hand in battle. This isn’t just good for you, it’s good for your allies too. For every enemy you kill, you reap Souls, which are then used to summon your familiars.
The Sorcerer subclass is also excellent, though, in my opinion, it’s not as good as the Warlock class. You collect Arcane Charges when attacking enemies, which you then use to summon explosions in battle.
