How to Unlock the Raven Cave

The Raven Cave is an unlockable sub-location within Frostspire Expanse (Island 3). The door to this cave is locked and can only be unlocked with the Red Cave Key item. To get this item, you need to find the Raven NPC and complete 2 of its quests!

Raven NPC Location

The Raven NPC can be found by the Spider Cave at Frostspire Expanse, next to a campfire. After speaking to the Raven, you unlock the first quest you need to complete.

How to Get the Red Cave Key

The Red Cave Key is obtainable once you complete 2 of the Raven’s quests. After completing the second quest, the Raven rewards you with the Red Cave Key item, which you can then use to unlock the door to the Raven Cave.

How to Complete Raven’s Quests

The two quests you must complete and how to meet their requirements.

First Quest

For the first quest, you need to:

  • Mine 1x Aetherit
    • Location: Frostspire Expanse
    • Rarity: Rare (1 in 390 chance)
    • Rocks: Icy Rocks, Icy Pebbles, Small Ice Crystals, and Icy Boulders
  • Break 10x Icy Pebbles
    • Location: Frostspire Expanse
    • Mining Power Requirement: 100
    • HP: 800
  • Defeat 5x Crystal Spiders
    • Location: Frost Nest and Frozen Webs
    • Level: 1 to 5
    • HP: 600 to 720
    • DMG: 55

Second Quest

After completing the first quest, Raven moves to the entrance of the Raven Cave, which is behind the anvil at Frostspire Expanse. For this quest, the requirements are:

  • Mine 1x Snowite
    • Location: Frostspire Expanse
    • Rarity: Legendary (1 in 4,325 chance)
    • Rocks: Icy Rocks, Icy Pebbles, Small Ice Crystals, and Icy Boulders
  • Defeat 10x Diamond Spiders
    • Location: Frost Nest and Frozen Webs
    • Level: 1 to 5
    • HP: 1K to 1.3K
    • DMG: 70
  • Defeat 1x Prismarine Spider
    • Location: Frost Nest
    • Level: 1 to 5
    • HP: 7.5K to 11.5K
    • DMG: 90
