Among various other things, Type Soul’s relaunch and major update introduced a new boss, and he’s quite a spectacle. Whether you’re not sure how to deal with this Hollow leviathan, or not even sure how to find him, we’ve assembled this Type Soul Ikomikidomoe Boss Guide to try and answer your questions.
Type Soul Ikomikidomoe Boss Guide
Onto the questions and answers.
What Is Ikomikidomoe?
Ikomikidomoe (try saying that three times quickly) is a Type Soul boss named after, and based on the powerful Hollow/Sword of the same name. (It’s a whole thing, I could spend the whole article explaining Bleach lore, but just take my word for it for now.) The boss made its debut in the latest update, and is native to Hueco Mundo. It’s unlike the now legacy boss raids, and probably comes closest to the World Bosses found in the different open world areas of the game, but it comes with its own quirks that we’ll need to go into.
Appearance-wise, this this is hard to miss, being a massive white scaly hollow the size of a multiple storey building. You will know him when you see him.
How To Find Ikomikidomoe
Ikomikidomoe spawns exclusively in Hueco Mundo, the homeland of the Hollows and Arrancar. If you’ve taken the Hollow route you will spawn there on death. If you’re a Soul Reaper, Quincy, or Fullbringer you’ll have to make your way down there. A bit like World Bosses, this guy isn’t around all the time, and will spawn in for a scrap.
Unlike the World Bosses, he’s a bit of a rarity. He has a 65% chance to spawn every three hours, which means a LOT of waiting around, or switching servers and hoping you get lucky. You can always idle around Hueco Mundo while you do something else. Just listen out for the sound cues. Ikomikidomoe spawning triggers a noise like a sword swing, followed by some choral boss music. If it sounds like your Type Soul just turned into Dark Souls, Ikomikidomoe may have arrived.
If you check in the window, you should also get to see his massive pink health bar on the top of the screen, which will also give you a pretty good clue he’s there. From that point, you’ll just have to find the boss somewhere in Hueco, but given he is the size of a full-on kaiju, that isn’t too hard to do.
How To Fight Ikomikidomoe
The big guy is a step up from the regular world bosses like BawaBawa. For a start, this thing is tanky. This, combined with its 30 minute time limit, means the fight is, more than anything, a rest of the whole server’s DPS. Ikomikidomoe has a lot of AoE moves so getting close is pretty risky. We’d suggest mostly hanging back and focusing on ranged attacks provided you can deal enough damage with them to make a difference… it’s not like he’s a tough target to hit.
Ikomikidomoe Boss Drops
Now let’s get into something really important… the rewards. Ikomikidomoe drops various rewards on defeat, if you’ve contributed enough toward the damage. Some rewards are Arrancar-exclusive, they are the home team, after all.
