99 Nights in the Forest Taming Flute, Obtainment and Types
To begin taming, you need a Taming Flute, obtained through the Zookeeper Class or by finding a Flute Tent around the map in-game. They can spawn relatively close to the campfire, so you hopefully won’t need to upgrade its level too far before you begin taming.
The Flute Tents appear as small flagged tents with pots filled with Flutes (Check the feature image!). As for the Zookeeper Class, this costs 70 Diamonds to buy and allows each new Zookeeper player within the campaign to begin with a Taming Flute.

What Are Faces?
Faces appear above animals when you hold a Taming Flute. The faces tell you two things: the type of Flute needed to tame them, and their current mood.
All animals begin with a sad face prior to taming attempts. If you complete the taming minigame, they’ll gain a happy face. Fill each happy face to unlock the animal’s food request and feed them to complete taming.
How To Play The Taming Minigame
First, ensure you’re using the correct flute type for your animal. You cannot use a regular Taming Flute on animals with 3+ faces, so always check first. Next, interact whilst holding the flute in the vicinity of the animal to begin the taming minigame.
To complete this, you’ll need to keep the white bar within the green bar that gradually moves up and down. Fill the metre to complete one cycle of taming. After all animal faces are happy, they’ll request a food type and quantity, which you must give them to complete taming.
